The first one is on Monday, I some how got through to the second round of the Amused Moose laugh off competition, a competition that tries to find a global, marketable star. Not sure how I made it through as at the audition I did jokes about Michael Foot and the Rwandan Genocide, but I am very pleased to be through and I think the audience get to vote so if you would like to give me some support do come to that. Here's the details from the email I got:
7.15pm on Monday 24 February, compered by Ian Smith (BBC2's Popatron),
upstairs at The Tommyfields, 185 Kennington Lane, London SE11 4EZ
Then on Tuesday, I'm doing a gig called the 'Comedians Bookshelf' in Shoreditch, which is an interesting gig where comedians talk about their favourite books. I haven't written my set yet but I think it's going to be about that Roy Chubby Brown annual I got given ironically. It's details are on the TimeOut website, where I am listed as 'Nathan Willwock' just wanted to clarify it is going to be me in case any Willwock fans turn up and are disappointed.
Finally on Thursday I am performing at Comic Boom in Komedia in Brighton which I have been looking forward to for ages as apparently it's always really nice and it's a good bill so you should come, below is a promo video where they've spelt my name with only one 'L'.
My Leicester Comedy show was great, thanks for asking! We had 11 pre bookings from people we didn't know and then more people turned up on the night! They were nice and friendly and we made all of our money back but then spent it on cocktails and Belgian beer. I did overly long bits about Thatcher and Edwina Currie which probably need work and my ending where I shouted over the theme tune to The Bridge didn't work like it did in my head but it was all good fun.
I shared the hour with Sarah Arnold, a fantastic comedian, some of you may know that she is also my girlfriend, but that's irrelevant because her half an hour was sublime and she had the audience in fits of laughter with her densely written, multi faceted comedy. I marvel at her writing and know I will never be as naturally articulate or funny as her. However, she is quitting stand up comedy for reasons she sets out in her own unique, hilarious and honest style here. Give her blog a read, it's very good. She also writes all of my best lines.
In personal news, I have a job summering news articles in the middle of the night in a swanky office in Liverpool Street, it means I am no longer unemployed making this video an historical artefact.
Until next time something of significance happens to me goodbye.
