I have been performing stand up comedy since 2010, whilst studying at the University of East Anglia (if you discount my brief teenage stint in a musical comedy duo, who won 'best newcomer' at The Whitstable Winkle Comedy Festival.) In my first 6 months of doing stand up, I reached the semi finals of two national comedy competitions, 'So You Think You're Funny?' and the 'Chortle Student Comedy Awards.' Whilst at University, I ran and created four separate comedy nights, including one, 'Dodgers Comedy Bunker', in the basement of my own house!
In 2012, I, along with four other comics, took a show up to the Edinburgh Fringe, 'Dodger's Comedy Presents' which played to full rooms every night (admittedly we were only in The Staff Room and later the Yurt Locker, which are quite small, but it was still pretty impressive.)
2013 saw me claim the runner up spot in the Chortle Student Comedy Awards, with Chortle editor Steve Bennett calling me "A slick and silly joke writer...who’d fit easily into any club line-up."
I am currently residing in North London.
Hello! My name is Nathan Willcock and I'm trying to become one of them stand up comedians. On this website you can watch me, hear me, look at me, contact me and book me. So go on, do one or all of those things.
P.S I hope you don't think I'm arrogant by having a website, it just seems to be what people are doing nowadays, with it being the future and all.
